Hi all, I found a 58 stepside with big curved rear glass and the notched fender for the spare tire. It has a chrome grille, hood bird, and stainless window trim. Does this make it the delux?
Will the fenders, doors and bed parts be the same for multiple years? Which ones? It's a pretty nice looking truck, is it any more desirable than any thing else? I don't see too many with the rear fender tire mount. As always, Thanks

the 55-59 task force cabs and beds are the same - the fenders/hood/grill/rad support differ, 55-57 fronts interchange, 58/9 interchange, the later frame is about 2" longer at the front - the fender spare mount was an option all years

there wass a big window cab all years and it could be had as an individual option, the chrome bits are also individual options, but there was a "deluxe cab" option that was a big window, the outside chrome window trim, a better seat, and chrome dash knobs

only desireable if you want the glitz - chrome grilles are waaay spendy to rechrome and some folks don't like the spare mounted there - if you like it go for it!

Sounds like a Great looking Bolt. I am thinking of putting a left rear fender spare on my 59...
..because I like the look of them.

Sounds like you found a real spoiled ol' girl. Check out Stevie T's bolt in the gallery. He has a '59 that is all dolled up Miss America style. Gorgeous truck! Your find sounds similar. What body color?

You ask if it is more desirable. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. (I like my bolt's plain Jane look, but understand why others like the glitz.) From my own experience, it seems to me that you find more people dressing out their trucks when they restore them, than those that strip them down to basics. Some of those plain black knobs aren't easy to find. I recently discovered none of the parts suppliers offer bumbers that AREN'T chrome. Based on those two points, I'd have to say the suppliers are catering to the market, and the market prefers deluxe. Actual results may vary...

I agree with TxLaTx. I like my truck's painted bumpers and grill, but my wife loves the look of the chromed ones. To each his own, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, etc.
