After sitting a couple months, my '67 K-20 fuel lines were bone dry. After a lotta crankin' the fuel was still not getting to the carb. I pulled a few connections apart at the carb filter and fuel pump and they were still dry. Next I went to the tank, and pulled out the sender unit/fuel pipe. Everything was dry! I did notice that the brass screen on the end was disintegrated.
Put it all back together, and primed the carb, she barked, after a few more drinks, the 350 sucked down on the fuel line and got gas from the tank. Put the truck to work, but wonder: where can you get a replacement for the screen in the tank? Any ideas? Luke? wink

Splash - 67 is new enuff you should be able to get one from a GM dealer - otherwise just rob one from a donor tank of most any year

Just forget it! Anything that's big enough to get trapped by that relatively coarse screen is going to get filtered out by your inline filter, and you don't want it in the tank anyhow. If you're concerned about something getting into the check valves in the fuel pump, just put another inline filter upstream of the pump.
