If you're titling off a bill of sale or engine number then I suppose you title it however you want it.
The purist in me says keep it a 39, but then my 'handle' gives away my motivations. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 1,682 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 1,682 | I say do whatever it is you like with your truck within your budget.
Having a few mix and match parts on it and driving it around is, in my opinion, than letting the whole truck sit while you track down the 'perfect, original NOS, serial number matching' part.
I'm a huge fan of the 1950 Chevy truck. I own a '51 3/4 ton and a '52 1/2 ton. I have no reservations about using pieces from both trucks to make one truck, then finding some earlier vent free doors to put on it.
By law in most states, your trucks 'year' is whatever year the body or frame is titled as (whatever the VIN plate is attached to), unless you jump thru the hoops to have it titled as a 'new' or 'project' vehicle.
an idea is only stupid if you think about it rationally.
