As my front drums have 1/8th inch grooves worn into them, and the linings are installed in two different directions. At this point, I'm not sure what went where, other than I know for a fact where all the springs went. Which Direction do the linings go? When I took it apart, the small lining was on the front and the large lining was on the back, but this was on the drivers side, on the passengers side, the small lining was in the back, and the large lining was in the front. The drivers side was more equally worn, as the small one on the back of the passengerside was down to the bare metal. I've read in the book for my Z28 Camaro, and it says that the large lining goes to the back, and the small in the front, but these are for rear drums. I'm not sure if it is the same for front drums or not. BTW ANYONE WHO HAS A '60-'66 K10 WITH YOUR ORIGINAL FRONT AXLE, AND A CRACKED STEERING BOX, I HAVE FOUND A SUITABLE REPLACEMENT THAT WILL ALSO GIVE YOU POWERSTEERING FROM A SAGINAW BRAND BOX.

Patton | | | | Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 12 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 12 | I've got the power steering conversion done, while retaining my original front axle, and doing nothing more than drilling 3 holes in the frame, and getting a custom pitman arm made. U-Joints in the steering column are also required, but easily done and found. Take a peak under the '76 and lower Dodge 1/2 full sized 4X4 trucks, youll find a Saginaw box thats the same style as the original Sawinaw that Chevy used, only heavier duty and with the addition of a power circuit. And thanks for the info on the brakes, just had to double check.
