from what iv read you can get some type of adaptor you weld/rivvet to smoothie type wheels to fit a standard cap?
i am thinking of fitting the chevrolet script stainless/chrome caps 1949 style to me smoothie rims problem is the rims accept a push in cap with diameter of 7.5 that ,,pushes in,, and the original cap i have here for reference is a lot wider and when laid on top the smoothie as fitted
it appears to overlap the area of wheel to much resulting in a gap
can somebody explain what caps or what adaptors i need where i can get them and an idea of price?
the other optio seems to be standard push in smoothie caps or the type that are the same but with chevrolet stamped across them same as 49 style BUTare these small and flatter like the standard smoothie caps? as they look too small to me
ideas/advise please?

Without altering/cutting the original caps, they will always stand proud of the smoothies, even with an adapter or clips. I would be too worried they fly off sooner or later. The script style repros are replacement for the originals and will not fit smoothies. They are provided by the wheelsmith in So. Cal. They also provide the service to convert your hub caps. Being in the UK, getting the adapter rings would be the way to go. They also have some early Chevy hub caps that fit the smoothie wheel without the adapter. The owners name is Bob Sage. what sort of price are these adaptors? the wheelsmith site has no prices!!! i was wanting to get ss caps rather than chrome as they will be pitted and brown in a week here in england

meaning i couyld trim off ss caps and rivet these adaptors on?? and the new ss 49 caps would then fit level?
