The folks that rented from us some years back left these two trannys here. They were hotrodders and these trannies are for chevys. I think the first one is a T-5 but I don't know what year or if it is even worth anything. The second one I was told is a Muncie 4 speed (rock-crusher). The muncie doesn't have a side plate and the gear that is at the far rear of the tranny is totally lunched so is the gear corresponding to it on the bottom. But the rest of the gears look good to the eye. What are these trannies and are they worth anything? T-5(?) If it is it is worth some big money if it is in good condition. Rebuilt ones are about $2500.

If you decide to repair it, have it completely disassembled, and check the case closely for cracks. They're not the world's strongest design, and one that's been hand grenaded is likely to have some hidden problems, too. Jerry

At first I thought the other trans was a T-5, but maybe not, who knows, may some Japanese unit. T-56 looks like this supposedly; | | |

Look for some casting numbers on the main box, a green and white sticker or an aluminum tag. The most useful would be the sticker or tag. What you are looking for is the first four numbers, if they are 1352, its a T-5. If you've got a tag or sticker, the next numbers will help you decode what it was used in and what gear ratios it has.
That first tranny has a 'short throw shifter' mounted in place of the stock shifter. Those things sell used on e-bay for about $75 and new closer to $200.
Run it through the gears and pop the cover on the box and have a look at the syncros and fluid to see what sort of shape its in!
By the way, it looks like its got a ten spline input shaft from a jeep, which might work just fine with your stock clutch.
