The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area General Truck Talk Throttle Line From Inside Cab

Can someone tell me or email me a picture of where the throttle cable from inside the cab hooks up to the carb. I see where the housing goes, but I dont see where the cable hooks to.

I just went through the same thing with my 1960. In my case the throttle cable attaches through the same bracket(mounted on the carburetor) that holds the choke cable. The choke cable sheath attaches horizontally, and the throttle sheath attaches vertically with the moveable wire extending down to the throttle below to another brass ball/set screw. This may not be true for the Carter carburetor .

I'm getting ready to put the throttle cable on my truck as well...I thought it attached down near the firewall where the throttle bracket attaches. There is an extra bracket there...Anyone know why?

Thats what I was thinking, but there is no brass ball set screw that came with the new throttle. I see where the linkage is for the foot (gas) throttle and I was thinking that it might go through a hole where a cotter pin is right now. When I got the truck, it had no throttle cable coming from the cab.

That picture from Chris's truck shows a carb that is not from an AD truck. It has an automatic choke and the fuel inlet is in a different location than on an AD motor.
