I have a two ton that came without wiper motor installed. I have a wiper motor and new wiper link, but how do you attach to wiper motor. Since I haven't seen it before I am perplexed. Maybe I have the wrong wiper motor, but I dont' think so. Also, the small brass hex nuts on the actuator look peened on. They just spin on the post where the "hair clip" notch is. ( Am I speaking truck here?). I have a link to a picture to help. I don't see how the rubber gromet on the link fits on the actuator on the motor. Any help will be greatly apprectiated. If you are not too hung up on originality I'd convert to electric wipers. My opinion is the vacuum wipers are not up to the kind of weather we have in this part of the world.

I have to run up to Capilano College in an hour.... drat. But looks like I might need some parts anyhow. I don't have what looks to be the transmission arm spring retainer. But I still don't get how the transmission arm fits on the motor. That rubber grommet on the transmission arm doesn't fit over that brass hex nut does it?
Thanks for the offer. I'll give you a quick call in a minute. Have to put my seat back in the truck before I take off. The truck is waiting for it's home and is parked on a pad right now.

Yeah... I am old timey... but I have an auxiliary electric vacuum motor on the firewall. Should put out enough vacuum to really suck.. just like our wet weather.
But what about how the transmission arm mounts to the motor... that is what I really want to know. The manual I have doesn't have much about the motor in it. I have a build book coming though.

Do those round, funny looking nuts that are screwed onto the wiper motor mounting bolts go somewhere else. They almost look like they are the round retainer nuts for the rubber bushed linkage arms.

They are pressed into the mounting holes with the hex nut facing the screw. I just have them on there so I don't lose them. One is missing the rubber and one is just too dried out to stay in the hole.

I just showered up, and we're taking the pup for a run on Barnston Island: The pup will run, we'll ride bicycles and Epic #2 will take us there. Maybe somewhere in the process I'll look up at that motor. Even so, I got your message, Paul, and when you get back from Cap College call me again - probly won't be in the shower this time - and #2 won't mind going up there to meet your '48. Friendlier that way, don't you think? Also, my sister lives close to you, and we could make a sweep.
