The fenderless, grilleless, bedless, bumperless, weatherstrippingless cab and chassis made it down the road to the Painter and recieving thumbs-up along the way.
Question: I need to purchase all the exterior and interior rubber weatherstripping and molding. Without bashing... is there one vendor products superior to others? I appreciate your experience. | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 Bubba - Curmudgeon | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 | sfsutton, Steele Rubber Products has the best quality and the highest prices. Some people say that other vendors sell Steele Products, but this is hard to confirm. Most vendors buy from the same manufacturers (I've been told that by the vendors). The Filling Station has the largest selection of different profile weatherstripping of any vendor that I have seen other than Steele. I've been less than totally satisfied with the fit of rubber seals & gaskets available, even from Steele.

Found their products to be well constructed and of a good quality. My door seals did not hinder final door adjustment and seal well. Thier window rubber made installation easy and their prices were competitive.
Would not hesitate to use them again. Hope this helps. | | | | Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 513 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 513 | "lmc truck" -Long motor company has a lot of stuff that vintage. when i put the windshield rubber in my 1949 3600, the rubber from lmc is a little better than that of chevy duty, it covers the corners a little better, i have dealt with chevy duty also it as well is a great company mike 1949 Chevy 3600 Flatbed all orginal 1964 gmc 4000 1973 gmc 6000 2005 chevy duramax 4x4 1994 chevy 1500 Trucks are GM and Tractors are Orange "I don't measure a man's success by how high he climbs but how high he bounces when he hits bottom." - General George S. You won't find the usual restoration parts there like hub caps, body panels seat covers, etc., they are truly a specialty company. They were a little slow on delivery but not any worse than Carter.
