Hello all, I have a Borg Warner T5 Trans from a 1982 GMC pickup(S15), the sticker on top says 1352-598-047, can anyone tell me what the gear ratios are in this trans and would it be satisfactory behind a 235 motor and a 307 rearend? ohwell I appreciate any information that anyone has...Thanks...oldred36 ohwell

There have been many, many threads about T5 swaps and I seem to remember a number chart somewhere. Have you searched the Tech Tips on this site or did a search of the forums? You could also try the tech tips page on the inliners site.

Tractorboy posted the link to the number chart.

As he says, the number doesn't match anything on the chart, nor does the chart show a t-5 for a 82 S-15. If I remember right, the correct number is stamped on a tag on the top of the tranny? (there are other numbers stamped on the gear box and tail housing)

hi guys i heard a t-5 from 81-84 camero works ...im getting one soon and will look into it ....i want that overdrive..i have a saginaw 4-speed with a 57 3-55 rear...this is in my 48 with a 56 235 with a tom langdon carb setup with headers...a sweet ride..i have 79 truck power steering convertion steering is too light no rode feel kozy

Hey Guys, I finally found the tag on the T5 and it is; 1352-149 according to the charts its an 84-86 S10 w/ a 3.76 Ist gear ratio. Looks like it's in decent shape, little discoloration in the fluid but no meta :rolleyes: l chunks. Thanks for your help...oldred36 :rolleyes:
