Just need to bug with an other question.

I have a 55 1st serie 1/2 Chevy truck with a 327engine and a 350 transmission. I really like to have the shifter on the column but like to keep the original column as well. Has anyone done something like that?
The problem ist that I live in Germany and cannot just have a look on a scrapyard to try some shifter out.

Maybe I could buy from someone a 3 speed column shifter and let it send to Germany to try it out if it works. But I guess that will be to pricy

the V8 won't interfere with the shifter, but you need the setup for an automatic, not the 3 speed - maybe an original hydramatic shifter could be adapted, but you'll probably have to fab your own setup

My cousin and I put a 455 olds in a 73 c-10 that came with a 6cyl-3-speed. We used one of the original linkages. Did not have a indicator but worked good.

Thanks for the Reply. I also thought that the 3-speed shifter could work somehow but it's just hard to get one for a recent price to Germany.
