ANYONE HAVE ANY POINTERS ON BODY DROPPING ? I HAVE A 53 3100 WITH A 350, AUTO TRANS, GOING TO ATTEMP A BODY DROP ! THANKS FOR ANY HELP !!

I asked a similar question a while back and someone suggested I fill the truck full of concrete until it lowered to the desired height.

NOT SURE IF ANY OPF YOU READ "OL SKOOL RODS" BUT THIS MONTHS ISSUE HAS THE COVER STORY BEHIND MY IDEA FOR THE BODY DROP.... YOU CANT GET THIS LOW WITH A SIMPLE SUSPENSION DROP ! TRUST ME !

TURNING THE WHEELS WON'T BE A PROBLEM. NO FENDERS NO PROBLEM !

why channel the body the frame is plenty tall you can take 2 inches off the top of it and box it under the cab so you dont have to channel the body, and kick the frame up in front of the cab and in the rear of the cab

I'm still in the thinking stage of my body drop.

I'D RATHER KEEP THE FRAME STOCK IN CASE I SELL IT TO AN ENTHUSIAST . I'D RATHER CHOP UP THE FLOOR BOARD, I THINK THATS INEVITABLE ANYWAYS IF YOUR GOING TO DO ANY TYPE OF CUSTOMIZING ON THESE DINOSAURS .... THE FLOORS ARE ALWAYS RUSTED OUT LOL. I HAVE 3 56' CHRYSLER IMPERIALS TOO AND ONLY ONE DIDN'T HAVE A RUSTED OUT FLOOR, BECAUSE IT WAS IN MY GRANDFATHERS BARN FOR 30 YEARS.

Bige.. Sounds like an interesting project. A little different than what most around here are doing, but it's your truck. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
BTW.. I know they do things BIG in Texass, but could you stop shouting in your posts. My ears are hurting.

Here's a picture of a 63 with a 5" channel and stock suspension. http://s32.photobucket.com/albums/d41/coilover/ It has a flat floor so is similar to yours Five inches was chosen with the driver sitting in the seat and allowing comfortable head to top spacing. Be aware that everything mounted to the firewall/dash that has a certain spacing will change when the floor stays put and the cab is lowered. This includes the brake/clutch pedal assembly, accel bracket and pedal, steering column, etc. Of course the bed and core support must be repositioned so the front sheetmetal and bed match the lowered cab body lines. Channeling is not used as much as in the past because it's very labor intensive and so many suspension options are available to give one just about any stance.
