I want to raise the rear of my 51 GMC longbox between 2-3 inches. currently sits low compared to front end.

if main leaf is #1 and OK, how much lift could I expect if leafs 2 and 3 were replaced with new ones. Anybody got any experience on this??

I have access to a couple reputable spring joints near me, and one guy said this would do what i want.

Are leafs 2 and 3 bad? The spring shop should be able to re-arch those to original height.

I had the same problem. Since I had the 3200 series with spring helpers, I just disassembled the leaves and stacked in the extras. However, I finally reached the point where that didn't work after adding a rear fuel tank, which (full) drags the rear end even lower. I ended up installing air shocks in the rear.
