I'm removing my master cylinder to rebuild it and I can't get the brake pedal off. How does the pin through the master cylinder and pedal arm come out? Should it just slide out after the retainer is removed? I tapped on it a little and it didn't move. Should it come out toward the frame or the transmission? I guess I want to make sure that if I pound on it, that I'm pounding in the right direction. HELP PLEASE!

Thanks,
Andy

Just looked at mine (55 second series) - it comes out toward the fram on mine. The pin is accentric, so it might pay to mark the position before you start pounding.

good luck

there's actually 3 points to unbolt - the one you need to remove is the "upper pedal" to free the part that goes thru the floor from above, the rest can stay on the mstr cyl util you get it out - see pic at bottom of this page

that the main one right below the floor you'll need to leave the nut on and use a BFH on it or turn the pedal arm above with a pipe wrench - the eccentric one is usually siezed [called "adjusting bolt"] from fluid dripping on it - the "lower arm" right at the mstr has the keeper plate, doesn't even need to come off unless you actually replace the mstr
