Trans, and I need to know if the upper or lower Trans line is the return line? There are two outlets on the side of thhe transmission, an upper and a lower? Someone has to know this ???????? #22354 09/07/2002 6:23 AM | Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 1,897 Member | | Member Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 1,897 | I have always hooked the top line from the tranny to the top on the cooler and the bottom line from the tranny to the bottom on the cooler.I bypass the radiator completely.Heat is the transmissions enemy.Bypassing the cooler in the radiator also allows the engine cooling system to cool the engine better

Give some thought as to where you are going to place your cooler also. Blocking the radiator further may not be in your trucks best interest.
If at first you don't succeed, get a bigger hammer.
