Just started up a Webshots page, got some pics of the '50, before and some shots of the bed repair/primer job. There are two albums posted, Mike www/webshots.com

Hello Bluedot,

From what I can see, it looks as the though the rust is mostly just on the surface. Otherwise it appears to be real solid. So what is the history on the truck? If I were to guess, it looks as if someone had started doing body work, but left it outside. I don't see many dents to pound out, the box even looks really straight.

This should make a great candidate for before and after photos. Does it run, and drive?

John

Not sure of the history, bought it off eBay, was up in Oklahoma. It has about 3 coats of paint on it, very little bondo that I have found. The body is actually pretty straight, may replace one front fender. Other than that, there is minimal rust-thru, mainly areas in the floorboards and bottom of cowl area. The cab corners are very solid. Most of the rust is surface rust, just got done taking off the doors, have the inside of one stripped and primed as of today. Doesn't run yet, hope to pull the front end off next winter, have the engine rebuilt, and tranny checked out.. Hoping to start on the inside of the cab this early spring, time permitting. Mike

That's a GOOD truck to begin fixing!

it's got a 235 in it, will have it rebuilt, hopefully next winter. Plan on keeping it all original, tempting to "rod it", maybe my next project!
