I am taking the truck to the body shop for paint today. I would like to add aftermarket air in the future but funds are going to paint.

If I am having my paint man fill up holes and clean up the firewall and want to provision for an ac bulkhead what do you recommend?

I have heard of a bulkhead that fits in the original hole where the heater was and everything else would be under dash.

Does it sound feasible to just fill most of the firewall holes but a couple for wiring harness, gauges, and steering column and use the heater hole for a bulkhead?

Or is there a bulkhead connector that can be bought that will work later for aftermarket ac?

You can get one to fit the heater motor hole, you can also get universal ones and make your own hole. Or you can make a hole and put the lines through with grommets, that eleminates two places for each line to leak.
Be sure you don't fill holes you will need later.
