Does anyone have any data that shows the dimensional spacing for the front and rear stainless trim mounting for AD trucks?

If you have this trim I would appreciate it if you could send me some pics with a tape measure up against it both vertically and horizontally.

You might try on the suburban site also. I think way more burbs had this trim than did pickups. Good luck

The stainless fender trim, was only available from the Factory, on Panel trucks. Not pickups, nor Suburbans. Most of the guys looking for it though, are planning to install it on Suburbans. I had planned to install the trim from my panel, on my 1/2 ton pickup, but sold it first.

You made me look, spanky. RPO 390 Deluxe Panel trim-Not available on Canopy Express and Suburban. Still, it would look good on them though.

Houston, I havw this trim on an old parts truck, front fenders only, This truck also has the stainless(?) window trim. The truck does not have a box and is what I would call a3/4 ton. This trim is-has been on this truck a long time and I would venture to say if it was not factory it was installed by the dealer.

The trim would have to be installed to fit the curvature of the fender as far as horizontal measurements go, but there would be some leeway vertical. I have this truck in storage not near by but this week end I will be there and take some pistures for you.

Do you have some of those "spears"? how did you come about them? ben

The reason I am asking is I want to develop a template to air-brush the molding pattern onto my fenders when I go to final paint.
The dimensional information will help me get closer to the original. Not necessary to get it exact though.
This process will help me make a final decision whether this will look good with my color scheme.

The "brown" factory manual does show this trim for the 31xx series but does not show mounting dimensions.

Thanks for the input.

FYI: There are "1/2-ton" and "3/4-ton" versions of the stainless Panel trim, and they're not the same dimensionally. I have the 1/2-ton trim (on my front fenders only) and could easily take some measurements if you still need them.

Maybe everyone should read all the postings in this message.

The 14 piece set stainless fender trim (if that is what is being discussed) was a GM factory option for Advance-Design Panel Truck and Canopy Express. The same size fit the 1/2 ton and 1 ton trucks (the front and rear fenders were the same).

These parts might have been installed by owners and/or dealers on other models of trucks.

Even if these parts are now found on a 3/4 ton pickup, I do not think the 1/2 ton and 3/4 pickups have different sized fenders.

I wasn't referring to fender size...trim size varies. I've got some rears from a 3/4 (or 1-ton) that differ from the 1/2-ton pieces. I wasn't making any claims as to "what" the trim came on or "who" installed them, though I see there's generally some confusion around that.

All of the trim, was the same, regardless of weather it was a 1/2 ton, or 1 ton panel. The 1/2 ton panel rear fenders, are the same as the 1 ton panel rear fenders. These fenders are also the same fenders as on the suburban. Sounds like someone maybe used front trim, for the back, or vise versa, or had a mix matched set. You do indeed have to get it placed correctly, top, to bottom.
