old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 125 Member | | Member Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 125 | I need to tear my heater apart and check on either a disconnected or faulty temp. control valve or a plugged heater core (have no circulation through the heater). I have looked in the '55-'59 Factory Assy. Manual but can't find an exploded view of the heater. Does anyone have a pic handy??? I am guessing I just remove a dozen or so tiny hex-head screws and the front pulls off, but would rather have a "look" inside before I take it apart.

I see where to take the front cover off in the cab. My heater is the deluxe model. I also have new heater levers ordered (on backorder.. . I am guessing they are easy to install once the heater controls are removed from the dash. Any other hints?

Here's a pic of the box in the cab, with the front taken off. click here | | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 125 Member | | Member Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 125 | avette4me, what are the wire things at the right lower edge of the core?

I've seen a few different designs of controls, and the only one repro'd now that I know of is for the tri5 car, won't fit most of the Harrison truck heaters Bill | | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 125 Member | | Member Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 125 | thank you Bill...pics will come in very handy

I decided it'd be better to put a different style under the hood anyway where leaking wouldn't be a problem Bill | | |
