Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 31 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 31 | I have a 57 Chevy truck with a TCI mustang II front end kit. I have a ZZ4 small block chevy motor and an Ididit steering column. I would like to install longer headers than the block huggers, but no one seems to know what will clear the front end I have. Anyone out there had this same setup and put headers in? If so, which ones? I have pretty much the same deal. I picked up a junk set of camaro headers on e-bay to mock it up, and it looks like they're going to clear everything without having to add any more u-joints in the shaft. For reference purposes, Heman part number 68276 is what I got. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 1,554 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 1,554 | I used the blockhuggers in my 55.However I think you can add more borgenson joints and use full length headers. Its just much simpler using the blockhuggers. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 31 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 31 | I looked up a picture of the Hedman 68276 and they are NICE looking! Can you let me know if these work in your truck? My main concern is clearance of the steering linkange to the power rack on the Mustang II. I would love to use these! Wish I had a set to try out. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 31 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 31 | I went down to my local auto parts store and they happened to have a set of these headers. I am going to dry fit them today to see if they will provide the clearance I need and I'll let you know. | | |
