Am I going to be able to get to the heater fan without removing the heater core? (It is a round core--) Or do I have to remove the heater core/fan as a unit?
At 7500 feet, it's cold up here with no heat!
Thanks in advance--T.K. | | | | Anonymous Unregistered | Anonymous Unregistered | You will need to remove the core with the motor & fan, then you can remove the fan (easier said then done) by backing out the set screw and tapping off the fan from the motor shaft then remove the two nuts holding the motor to the core and install your new motor, nuts then fan and your ready to put it back in the housing and reinstall in your truck.

Mine backed off and allowed the fan blade to get it to the core, causing damage, resulting in a trip to radiator doctor. | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 Master Gabster | Master Gabster Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 | I pulled mine to upgrade to a 12 volt. I bought the new motor from Brothers but the studs were off by about 1/32 on an inch or more. Rather than jerryriging it I sent it back. I have not reordered from another vender yet. If anyone has bought a 12 volt heater moter and had it fit let me know.
