I was in the store and picked up a truck magazine and there was a article on the new steel 47-53 cab. I didn't read the whole write up. They are asking $8995 for the cab. WOW, I thought that's a little bit expensive. For that price you can weld in all the patch panels needed and still have lots of money left over to paint and do mechanical on your truck. I could see the company selling more of those cabs if you just couldn't find them anymore kinda like a 57 convertible.

Anyways around here we have alot of those style trucks sitting around in wrecking yards and peoples back yards. No shortage here

Wow, that's quite a price tag. For that price I could have my F*%d tractor completely rebuilt/restored better than new through N-complete!

That is a very interesting article and I think that we are going to see "new" ADs with modern chassis and crate motors driving around. The same magazine has a very interesting article showing the conversion of an old Ford panel to fit on an Explorer chassis. They cut the body down the centre line and added 5" to the width. You have to admire the metal work shown in the article.

This is talked about in the "Main diff. with 1950, 51, 52 bodies" thread in the last few days. A lot of thoughts on the subject. The Co. building the NEW SOUTHERN (AD sytyle) pickup will need something like that to go into production.
