Does any one have part #'s for this year truck. None of the part stores can get any. One store ordered some for me, but the bottom hole on the shock is too small. The bottom of the shock mounts to the, I call it a lift block under the leaf springs. Thats where I'm having the problem. The old shocks, they knocked out the metal bushing to allow it to fit. I cant seem to knock it out. I'm using a bfh, but dont want to destroy the shock. Thanks for any help in advance. Jeremy

use a torch to heat the bushing, when it starts smoking, knock it out with a punch. THEN, go get one of those emergency(red rack at the autoparts store)lower shock fixit mounts. They have two tapered rubber bushings and a big flat washer held on by a bolt. A lot of trouble, but if you already have shocks, it is a way to make it work.
OR....Check and see if they have a shock dimension chart from the manafacturers. It will give eye or mounting dims and stroke length. then you can order from that. Most counterjerks don't even know it exists if they actually have one at their store.

I have purchased shocks for '60-'66 Chevy trucks from www.lmctruck.com, www.chevyduty.com and www.bowtiebits.com. There are other aftermarket truck suppliers that carry correct replacement shocks. I have a factory '66 K10 that needed new shocks. I had them replaced at the tire store while they were redoing the brakes and mounting new tires.

The aftermarket truck suppliers tend to be a bit higher on some of the consumable parts like shocks, etc. however you are saved a lot of frustration during installation, because they know what you mean when you say shock for a '61 Chevy K10. Good luck and hopefully this information is helpful.

Glad it worked. I have beat on them to get the bushing out and ended up breaking the whole ring off the end. I came up with that method when I was a kid and had plenty of dads tools and a guy who let me get free parts from his junkyard. I learned how to make stuff work.
