Here's my new, slightly used 1954 3809 1 Ton Stake truck. I really don't know why I bought it other than it was cheap and I thought it was just plain cool. It won't go fast, but then neither do I!

This truck was last run in 1999 when the previous owner stopped using it. Believe it or not, after I trailered it home started right up (on the old gas, big mistake but couldn't wait to hear it run!) and I drove it around my yard for about an hour. It was kind of exciting as the brakes were non-existent. Just going to have fun with it right now and will fix it up as I go along. I'm in the process of buying a 54 1 1/2 or 2 ton (not sure what it is) truck for the 261 to put in it. It was originally Junpier Green but my 8 year old son calls it "Big Orange".

NICE BUY !! It'll come handy when buying large truck parts at the swap meet or the shop. BIG ORANGE does seem apropriate.

Nice truck. I like one tons. I had a 55 2nd with a 292 and 4sp. But 1/2 tons are more practical for me. Have fun.

Well, I went and bought the other truck. It's a 2 ton 6400. This one hasn't moved in 25 years according to the guy I just bought it from. It has a 261 with the positive crankcase vent option which will be cool in my 1 ton. Also has MINT runningboards and the Unison seat option. I'm just going to part it out over the next few months. The guy even had the title for it!
