Who here has experience with replacing their under bed fuel tank with an aftermarket or later model one? I saw a suburban with a late model chevy tank under the rear, and I thought that was a great idea. But I want to keep the filler neck on the side of the cab, which seems like it could be dangerous if the tank wasn't designed for that vehicle. Any input is appreciated.

Why replace the tank at all? Is it leaking? Doing a custom job? Wanting the space behind the seat?

There is a good article about the in cab gas tanks at jim carter's site:

It's a Panel, not a truck. So the tank has to be under the bed. I'm putting a big block in it that will probably get 10 mpg, so a 16 gallon tank won't cut it.
