looking at another 51 5 window complete with stuck 216, pretty stright, and a 53 3 window stright but w/o engine and trans whats a fair value to pay for these needing a total rebuild i mean ground up any ideas?

This gets asked a lot and there's really no answer. Value is a highly relative concept. I depends on how bad the owner wants to sell & the buyer wants to buy. Having a bad or missing power train lowers the value but as to what it's worth...... :confused:

1. Must have a good Texas Title !!

After that get the most complete & original truck you can find. If it runs even if just off road on a farm or ranch that will save you lots of money later, old working parts are better than many new replacement parts.

Once you buy one your committed so you need to be sure to get the most out of the original purchase.

The two trucks you are looking at are worth about $ 1000.00 or less each.

But barely running at $ 2500.00 would be cheaper in the long run.
