They're very similar to the trim that was used on the Fleetline Passenger car, though not interchangable. They were not used on pickups.

This option included the bright metal reveal moldings around the outside of the rear door windows (these rear-door-window moldings were standard at least some years on Suburbans). The 14 piece set of stainless steel fender trim was neither a RPO or GM accessory for any other models. However, it would be possible for someone to buy the set as parts and put them on any truck. I have only seen these on panels and I think just early AD's... 1949 ? with the vent in driver side cowl, kick panel area, but the neat sales brochure (thanks tclederman )
shows a 1954.... learn something everyday.
Wish I had a set!! but would be nervous that someone would rip them off my ugly truck!
Wish I had a 100 sets to sell!!
