If you have to hire out a lot of the work, you will not come out good on it, unless you sleep or drink beer with a body man & mechanic. That body style does not have the value like the 47-54 or 55-59,s. Also the 60-62 is hard to get parts for & they are more expensive.

It should have a torsion bar front end instead of coil springs so the ball joints will cost about $125 each if they need replacing (Parts only) I have a 62 C10 Chevy that I have owned since 78 and I love it. Offer the owner @250 and I'll bet he will take it! My 62 has a 235 six with overdrive and gets over 20 mpg-so consider a six if you want better gas mileage...

I too have a 62 but it's a 3/4, 235 but doesn't get 20mpg.
What overdrive unit do you have? How do I get one?

I bought it from an individual in our car club- for $125. These trans were available for 60s Chevy cars and trucks I understand but not too many people wanted them with gas so cheap back then..Some are still available at car swaps and from individuals. They ar really fun to drive with six forward gears. The high overdrive gives excellent gas mileage.Good hunting.
