I was curious what year was the last for the foot feed.

I just bought a 235 with a bellhousing attached. It has the food feed starter swich on it. I would like to use it on my 53. It is supposed to be a 57 truck motor. I'm more concerned about what the bellhousing motor mount looks like and if this bellhousing will work on my truck without modification. The front motor mount looks like it will work by drilling holes in the l bracket at the front of the 235. I could just go and look but the truck is 45 miles away.

Thanks,

Tim

'59 was the last year for the foot starter. It'll bolt up to the existing bellhousing, so that would solve any rear mount issues if they are different.

I may have to find a bellhousing then. Right?

If I want it to bolt right up. Unless the 57 bellhousing will fit on the 53.

Do you still have the original bellhousing from your truck? If not, I think that they are the same as far as mounting goes. Maybe one of the AD guys that's done this swap can tell you for sure.

I do not have the 53 bellhousing. I am hoping to use the original crossmember and find the right bellhousing.

Hy guys, the 57 bellhousing will not bolt up to the 53 frame, the 57 uses an angle mount the 53 uses a mount which is parallel to the bottom of the frame hope that helps.

I just talked to a friend and he has two 47-53 bellhousings or so he thinks. Does anyone have a picture of one or a link to one?

Thanks,

Tim
