It breaks down to this; 3100 1/2 ton, 1955 first series, built in Janesville WI. The number should be on the frame rail, near the steering box as well.

Most states used the engine number (behind the distributer) through 55. The agency that does vehicle inspections (highway patrol in Kansas) can tell you which number you need.
