Please help | | | | | Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 6 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 6 | Hello, I am new to this site and was wondering how to find info on a first series 1955 GMC truck. It looks like a 54 as far as I can see. It has a automatic trans that does not have a Park just N D and R. I am thinking this is unusual most of them had 3 on the tree or 4 on the floor with Granny gear. With this being a first series is it hard to find parts for? Today I installed a new starter and new generator and now I have smoke. I have a 51 with 235 and converted to 12 volt. everthing is new | | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 | 66impala, welcome to the stovebolt forums. Start a new topic of your own and you'll get better responses. Your transmission is a hydramatic. Yes it's rare. Park it in reverse. It has a locking pin when the engine isn't running. For more info check out the old GMC website. | | |
