Well..i have No GF anymore..so i can get back into the old Chev's...Oh well...I just bought a 50 1 ton...has wooden dump rack on it..has a cracked head on it..has the 216 engine, i think..i have a 53 216 i'm putting into it,,from a 53 Chev truck..the title say's 1-ton..on the hood it says 4400 series..needs master cylinder rebuilt..probably brake lines too..How hard is it to fix the brakes on these beasts???..oh yeah,,i only paid $500 for it...Gotta Love the old Chev's!!!

I just got the (new reprint) shop manual for my own new '51 for about $25.

Fixing the brakes is pretty easy, sometimes getting the wheels, and drums off can be a pain. Tonners came either in a 3800 or 4400 frame. Its kind of like you have the smallest of the big bolts. You should be able to get any and all of the brake need at your local parts house.
