It has a panel that puts the leds at full coverage of the lens. Also, the bulb repacement type will not work with blue dots, the dot just blocks the light as the lens has to be the same color as the led illunination. Mine have been modified to allow for blue dot operation.

I used an led license plate bolt from APC that is mounted in an aluminum bracket that I made. This is mountet to the housing witha small machine screw the goes through the drain hole in the bottom of the lamp housing. I have the hot lead from that wired into the brake/turn signal wiring, so the blue dots only work when the brakes/turn signal is on. I put some pix of it on my Webshots album, I still don't have the picture linking figured out yet.
