So I have a 56 235 in my 46 and I have yet to get a reading on the temp guage witch I think is about the same. I think I have it all wired right and it runs but I haven't seen even a blip on the guage. Any ideas?

Electric or mechanical gauge?

Try hooking 12v to it direct while someone watches the needle. Then a resistor in there to drop the voltage. Be nice to know if the gauge works at all. Assuming wired all right means its electric. Mine sometimes reads and sometimes doesn't and I think its the wire connecting to the sender.

A safer way might be to use a test light to make sure the "Bat" or "Ign" side is getting voltage, then ground the "sender" side. The needle should go all the way to hot.
