Starting and idle were okay but loading engine would bog and sputter... SOLUTION... Got talking to another advance pickup owner at our club dinner Saturday night, who had exact same problem. He replaced every part under the hood but finally put old points back in BINGO engine ran fine. Problem is there are point sets being sold that do not have strong enough spring tension and at higher RPM they bounce. Once I set old one set next to new set I could feel BIG difference in spring tension. Problem will show up on dwell meter, when at increased RPM dwell starts jumping around...
