She lives! The old gal 1941(Betty Boop) is driving and stoping as I knew it would. She ain't the fastest thing I ever drove but she sure is sweet. Her owner ( A Dr. freind of mine) is now ready for stage 2. I have the 216 back from the machine shop ready to paint and install. She has a 235 now. The engine paint's are on order along with all new rubber firewall grommets, choke and throttle cables. We start the dismantle process this week. With the engine out she gets a firewall face lift,(new red paint,and odd holes filled), the wiring will be addresed at this time. Stage 3 will involve the rest of the body work (minor stuff as this was done about 15 years ago)and red paint with black fenders and running boards. She is green and black with an origional red firewall now. The tough stuff will be the windows. The door glass frames need attention and the windshield frame as well. Some new rubber on all the glass and replacement of one or two bed rails and its show time.

Front end removed, engine transmission out, all my parts are here. I removed the paint my machinest though was the right color. 3.5 hours of rag, paint brush, and thinner took off all the new paint and some of the old. This week I will spend 2 hours or so a night sanblasting the manifolds, pulleys, and other bolt on parts for painting. It is my hope that since I have the front end off the Dr. will want to go ahead and remove the bed and do the complete paint job.
I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Geeze I forgot to mention when I went to drain the transmission oil I only got out about 1/2 cup of oil. Scary to say the least. More to come.

Took the Dr. to the see the old bolt saturday, he scratched his head and said. "How much to go ahead with a full paint job? And don't screw me just because I am a doctor!" I gave him an open estamate and he said fix it.

My body guy is draggen his heels. Can't blame him he's got too many irons in the fire.
Well anyway I've got my part working, blasted and painted all the parts now need to assemble.
I guess after this weekend the engine and trans. will be ready to stuff back in. But I can't do anything till the cab gets painted. Guess I'll work on cleaning the frame for touch up painting.

Nothin like getting a bit of progess to stoke the fires of inspiration.

Put on the intake/exhaust today, added water pump, t-stat lower housing,T/O bearing release arm and stomp starter linkage. Gonna freashen up the starter and generator this week throw some paint on them while they are off and dismantled. Then I guess I am going to buy a catle prod and stick it on my body guy's a$$ to get him moving.

Overhauled and starter and generator this week, located a 6v gen. pully for my 12v gen. and installed both. Turned my attention to the distributor, it had some issues. Well one of them was self created, I broke one of the retainer clips for the cap and had to build a new one. It was also missing a bakelite plug that is used to rub grease on the upper main shaft bearing. Found another distributor and robbed one from it. Bead blasted the housing and painted it and all its little retainers. Installed the condenser and upps the points were wrong, had to ordered the right one.
Used the new hotshot I bought on my body guy and he is finaly moving again, had to help him dismantle the front fenders and radiator support. Geeze some people just don't want to work anymore.
Got my order from the Filling Station last night, I sat in the floor of my kitchen fondeling the new weatherstrips and assorted rubber parts ness for body reassembly.
