The driving at night is a new one on me! I've never heard that one. Most of the insurance companies I checked with just limited mileage, required indoor storage, and were for personal use only.

How in the heck do they expect you to enjoy the cruise nights etc?

Think, if it were me, I'd shop around for a different company.

I've personally got all of my vehicles covered through AllState. No restrictions what-so-ever. Full coverage for around $20 bucks a month each, and the ability to place them into or remove them from "storage" coverage at any time I desire.

Wow .... I have the 52 Deluxe and the 54 Plymouth both insured by Classic Automobile Ins Agency and I don't have many restrictions other than they must be garaged and not a daily driver.

Both cars (full coverage) $300.00 a year .. grin
thats only $25 a month.

there are a lot listed in
The Insurance section of the Links Page

The driving at night thing is new on me, too.

As has been mentioned above, most collector vehicle insurance companies will require a garage, will limit your use to "pleasure use" (e.g. no commercial hauling or taxi service) and may limit your mileage.

Many also have "minimum value" requirements. Hagerty said that Number Seven was too ugly to insure. grin

I'm also going to point you to the links section under insurance. There are a few companies listed there. JC Taylor seems to be the strictest, Grundy seems to be the most lenient, but the strict guys are the cheapest, and the lenient guys are the more expensive.

You can always write a policy with your regular insurance carrier (AAA, Farm Bureau, et cetera), but this policy will most likely NOT be an "agreed value" policy.

He may be reffering to Pa state laws applying to antique tags, not insurance. Pa State laws do not allow you to drive after dark when displaying an antique tag. Unless, you are driving to, or, from a show. This obsolete law dates back to the days when most of the antique tagged vehicles on the road did not have sealed beam headlamps. I think it's time for an overhaul on this one!!
