It could probably be made to work but would require some enginering.

Generally, an O.E. carburetor may be migrated to a similiar engine/transmission/vehicle with an engine displacement within 3 percent of the original engine.
3 percent of 250 CID is 7.5 CID. 250 CID - 7.5 CID is 242.5 CID. The 235 does not fall in the range.
This does NOT mean you cannot make the switch, but results may be less than desired.

Rochester used components in this carburetor which are NOT compatible with modern fuel. Even if the N.O.S. carburetor is free, it will still require rebuilding (at least the accelerator pump, the fuel valve, and the gaskets will need replacing).

Actually, the NOS carb is for a 1955 265 which I understand will definately not work on my 235.
That's what I get for trying to bank on my memory (or lack thereof!)
If anyone's interested in this carb I can try and find out if it's still available... guy want's somewhere around $150....
