For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 36 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 36 | Restoring my '53 1/2 ton and noticed that there are two holes on the top of the fenders. Any idea what they were used for? Assuming park lamps or something like you would see on the top of the cab of a truck. Any details would be appreciated.

One of the 52's pictured has an example. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 640 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 640 | I think Jed's right. I had those same lights on my truck when I got it. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 21 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 21 | Yep turn indicators most likely. I like those ones with the arrows that can be seen from the front and back. Made by signal stat I think. You can find em on ebay occasionally.

Remember they didn't come with them originaly. Most folks convert the front park lights these days, but the lights on the fenders are kinda nostalgic, a lot of the trucks had them in the '60's and 70's. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2000 Posts: 582 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2000 Posts: 582 | My truck has Arrow brand (no real arrows, just faceted bezels in a chrome housing) running lights that I wired to come on with the park and headlights. You can see them in the link below.
