Some of you may remember a thread I started about a year ago, where a friend was converting a Chevy P30 chassis to a COE with a '49 cab, 454 engine and auto...Well, it is no more. Here's what happened: He and his wife bought some property south of the city with a small house and shop on it. He bought the chassis and the cab a few days after they moved in and parked it next to their shop. She decides she doesn't want to be married to him anymore, serves him with divorce papers and changes the locks on the house. He is now living out of his van while she throws all of his stuff in the shop. So, one day, while he is at work, she calls up the junk guy and he hauls off the chassis, cab, and engine and tranny and supposedly gives her fifty bucks for the haul. She wouldn't tell him who she sold his stuff to. Once he found out, the junk guy had already sold the cab and junked the chassis and engine. Needless to say, the divorce was sealed at that moment! Reconciliation??? Not!

One more Bolt meets its end, and there is one more evil blood-sucking ex out there in the world, waiting to pounce on another poor, unsuspecting soul.

If I were him i'd get a lawyer.

I never understood why people have to be so caustic to each other.. especially someone who at one time you were supposed to have 'loved'.

You know.. even if she caught him in the sack with her sister, her grandma, and an albino post-op tranny.. on their anniversery.. there's no call to be so petty as to retiliate by destroying his property.

But unfortuanetly, it's a revenge thing.. you hurt me, i'll hurt you.. and it happens both ways.

Sometimes i'm ashamed to be a human.. perhaps that's why I generally prefer the company of animals.

Messing witha guy's truck just ain't right. He's better off without her.

Not in OK. If the vehicle is in both names (as in "and/or"), either party can sell or dispose of the vehicle with only the one signature on the title. Perfectly legal.

Sounds like something my ex-wife would do (the money grubbing be-och)
The world is so much better when you find a girl who understands and enjoys our hobby. A nightly drive around town is a joy with the new wife in the '66. The '70 is will be coming into shape for off-road 4x4'n soon & she can't wait!

Exactly why I don't think I would ever get married. How could you ever trust someone enough to give her access to your home, your money, and your toys?

This happened to me.

She got a restraining order and while I was off the property she had my toys hauled off as "abandoned vehicles"!

I had a '36 chev 2-door sedan, a '36 sedan parts car, and my '37 pickup.

I ended up buying my own pickup back at the auction!

I lost the sedans and tons of parts, tools, and equipment. I had to store the truck for several years to prevent her from getting her hands on it. It's only in the last couple of years that I've dug it out and started on my project to build it.

Lessons learned I suppose....

I guess I didn't realize how lucky I am. My wife might get rid of me, but that truck isn't going anywhere! If I say I need a part and it costs $100 or $200 she just says draw the money out of savings and get it. I wish everyone could be as fortunate as I am!

Well, they ain't all like that. I couldn't ask for a better wife. She Loves me and puts up with me and all my idosynchracies(sp?). She's my best friend and I wouldn't trade her for the world.

thats how i got my 20000, dollar truck for 5000. i know she didnt build it

yup!!!been ther done that.had a good start to my 49 goin in97 then everything went to crap. came home to a mostly empty house on our 16th anniversary.totally blindsided. talk about jeckyl and hyde. one of the first things i did after hiring an attorney was to lose the truck i "sold" the truck to my brother in law and scattered the parts to the wind,man i had them stashed everywhere.didnt know if i'd find them all again but i did the only thing i didnt recover was the front splash apron. all i know was she wasnt gonna get my truck. that was in 97 the project sat until last fall. feels good to finally start seein some progress again. good luck to your friend........dave

yup,, been there too...i came home from saudi after 8 months and had two hundered bucks in the bank,some dude driving my car and wearing my clothes!!!...when she called me to reclaim my gear she also set the neighborhood loose on it and i was lucky to get a box of kraft dinner out of that trailer!!!
but i won the kid in the divorce settlement and moved to canada so i win!!

I know that this getting away from general truck talk, but I have to weigh in on the side of a very lucky man. My wife loves my old truck and supports me in everyway. She was the one that found my mig welder in the paper and bought me a new 18.5 cfm compressor last birthday. I am definitly more concerned about the costs of the truck parts then she is and constantly tells me that I should have gotten the parts I passed up due to price. I know that, god forbid, we ever go our seperate ways, it will be amicible. I do know I am a lucky man.

I apologize if it appeared that I was trash talking the women! I love 'em (even if they don't love me back!). I applaud anyone who can maintain their relationships these days. I'm especially envious of those who can, and play with their toys at the same time!

The point if I had one) is that I overcame adversity and kept my promise to myself to ressurect my ol truck!
