Working on my 55 TF 1/2 ton, I'm trying to translate the Chevy parts numbers for screws, bolts, and washers into sizes, so I can buy them at the corner store. Has anyone seen a list that matches the parts numbers in the Factory Assembly Manual to standard stock sizes??

Hy ct55philo, in Canadian parts books there is a section labelled standard stock, this is where the fasteners etc. are described in addition to their part numbers. I assume this would be the case for American books as well, so if you have access to a TF parts book you should be able to find the info you need, hope that helps.

Most of the bolts in the body are going to be one of the following sizes; 1/4-20, 5/16-18, or 3/8-16. These can be found fairly easily, however you will want to pay attention to the bolt grading to prevent using too weak of a bolt for the application. Stay away from the grade 2 bolts. You want at least grade 5 for most parts, grade 8 for chassis and heavily stessed parts. You may want to consider a bolt kit for the body, you'll save time and money by not having to go get bolts every time you need one, and the kits are marked where they go so you won't be guessing what bolt goes where.
