| | | | Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 172 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 172 | yea so the wipers on my truck suck. the guy i bought the truck from threw in some "new ones" but they arent worth crap. i think it might just be the arms that hold the wipers on. they basically just skim over most of the water on the windshield or spread and smear it across the rest of the windshield. any ideas? thanks in advance.

There is a plunger built into the wiper switch, but it doesn't appear to do anything. The washer motor appears to be fitted to the lower rear of the wipesr motoe (under the dash).
Is it supposed to be the pump up type? If it was available, it most likely would have been an option.
If I remember correctly, the windshield on a '63 is the wrap around type, and would probably require a very flexible wiper arm to wipe effectively. It could be possible that someone replaced the arms years ago with arms that do not match the windshield well.
