Well me and my grandpa picked up a 64 C-10 with a 283 and a 3-speed auto about 2 weeks ago. The driver side window needs the handle crank gearbox thing installed. I have all the parts out of Grandpa's "pasture dweller" C-10 that the window actually still worked on. I just don't see any other way to get inside this door other than taking it to a body shop and having them split the two pieces of that door apart and then installing the parts. Is there any other way? We aren't looking to spend a bunch. Is $800 a good deal for a strong truck with big back window, chrome wheels, gauges and lights work work and a 6.5-7.5 out of 10 body?
Thanks for any replies.

Can't you remove the door panels and snake the regulator in there?

If you get a factory assembly manual - available from our vendors on the links option above - you can see how all that stuff goest together.

You have steel door panels that can be removed. You will need a good sized phillips screw driver. Sometimes those screws are tough to get loose. This will allow you to get into the window regulator.I believe you will have to pull your wing vent assembly first, there are some bolts (1 or 2) inside the door. There is also some screws at the top of the door that hold the vent in.Then you may have to position the door glass at point where you slide the whole window off the track and pulling the glass up and out. Then you should be able to unbolt the regulator and fish it out the door panel. Then install your new one and then reinstall door glass then the vent window.Hope this helps.

Just a note.Wear gloves!!The inside of those doors are full of sharp edges and they will bite and slice. That guy named "Ben There" told me.

Bowtie is right, once the vent post(divider bar) is removed there is plenty of room to take out the regulator. Give the screws a small squirt of aero kroil for a day or two and there's a good chance the screws will back out without heating. It's a hassle to deal with stripped bolt heads. My 63 has clutch head screws but I guess they went to phillips after 64.
