YEEHA!! Does anyone know off hand, if the Caprice with the TH350 application had the long, or, short tailshaft? Thanks,

I have a 350 from a 72 caprice that has a 9". As they grew in size, mid 70's, the tail piece was extended to 12" for the full size cars. What are the casting #'s on the engine and trans? | | |

Thanks Len. I figured with the full size cars, the tail shaft would be the 9". My '66 has the short shaft in it. I'm debating weather or not to, cut the drive shaft, or, take the box apart and swap the output shaft and housing. The engine and trans ( that's right, 650.00 delivered! ) have not been delivered yet. I can get the casting #'s when they drop it off. Thanks again,

The tail shaft is the shorty. WHEW!!. Complete unit, from fan, to tail shaft. Alt & starter included. now it's time for a complete reseal, and, paint job. This is too much fun!!

I looked up the specs today. The 305 is rated at 145-155 HP. This engine is the '76-'79 unleaded eng. I'm boosting my HP by 100. The 350 is rated at 255 HP. This will make a HUGE difference. Can't wait to get the swap done!! After the reseal is done, it should only take me a Saturday at work to do the job.

Now for the 4bbl & manifold. Once the drive train is all done, it's time for the cosmetics. Havin' a blast !!
