What car in the 70's or late 60's had a 9" f-rd rear end with coil springs and disc brakes that sat on pads that are mounted directly to the axle housing?? Also has a couple of brackets on the axle housing for the arms that connected to a crossmember.

I was told this rear end I have came off an old Mercury Station Wagon. I have not found anything on this yet.

I want to scab the coils, arms, and cross member from whatever vehicle this rear end came off of.

Does anyone have any ideas????????

Its probably off a mid 70s linclon mark 4 or a thunderbird,I hope you got the calipers with it as the core charge for them are expensive. I have had f**ds for a long time and never seen one on a late sixties to early seventies wagons,if there is such a animal I would like to have one for my 65 country squire. I think those rears have the same five inch wheel bolt pattern as chevy pickups.They are also very wide,lincolns had another disc rear that was in the granada bodied cars and were a little narrower and had leaf springs and parts are more avaliable for. Sswap, if my strained memory serves, I think you will find the combo you are looking for under a Mark V Lincoln. I stripped one down last winter, but I cannot recall for sure where the springs ran on the frame. The Lincoln has a 9" rear end with disc brakes, but it is pretty wide--62-64".

I am looking to do some horse trading with a friend that has a rear end from a mid 60's F**d pickup, which (if my measurements are correct) is 60" wide and will fit nicely. All I have to do is switch the caliper assemblies over to the narrower rear.
