Any one know about wiper motors for 1958-1959 chevy trucks? Is there two different kinds of electric motors? One with one wire and one with three wires. Thanks

Looking at my '58-59 service manual it appears there was only 1 type of electric wiper motor. There is a brown wire that is for power that goes to the motor. Within the assembly there is a relay. There are also 2 wires for the switch that goes in the dashboard.

There might be other wires that go to the switch for a washer setup or if it has an intermittent switch.

Where do the 1 and 3 wires go that you are asking about? Power, Switch?

the TF wiper has NO wires to the switch, switch is a cable thing that mechanically controls a slider on the motor, and all the electric bits are inside the motor assembly [it's a switch, not a relay] - an original washer setup would be a foot operated vacumm thing

the one wire from the motor goes to a fused power source - here\'s the real deal , happen to be workin on one - if you have anything different it's an aftermarket replacement, which does have an electrical switch on the dash - from Newport Engineering, and the 3 wires from the motor all go to the switch, 4th wire from switch goes to power

OK thanks for the info, did a 58 or 59 have a wiper motor with a electrical switch at the dash
from the factory? I have one like red58 is showing, but I also have one that has electrical wires that come out of a circut board.
