For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 24 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 24 | A friend has a 50 Chevy hood that is punched full of louvers and wants to trade me for my project truck hood on my 54 first series. I would take the deal but neither of us is sure that they will fit the other, without physicaly trying. I figure that this is the place to ask the experts in A.D. truck. Any help would be deeply appreciated. The front and side emblem mounts. The 50 had 2 side emblems and the 54 had one. The 54 front emblem used oval holes to mount and the 50 round holes. The '50 may also have round recesses around the holes. Your 54 emblem will work on the 50 hood and on the side you may have to fill a couple of screw holes. Your pal may have drill a couple of holes.

'55 had a first series that looked like a '54 and a second series that looked like a '56. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 24 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 24 | Thank, and sorry, just got used to refering to my truck as the same a 55 first series for parts it just became habit. So the hoods will interchange with no problems. Thats great, I really want the louvers for mine and he wants the smooth on for his. Emblems and locations or filling/drilling holes not a problem...thanks for the advice. Dennis | | |
