I finished the frame last summer and am hoping to get the motor in this winter/spring.
I bought a good running stock 207 out of a 1933 coupe which I plan to put in my truck. From what I can tell, the only difference between the motors is in the heads -- the '33 has spark plug holes that come in at a 90 degree angle while the '35 has holes at a 45 (I think that gives the '35 "high" compression at a whopping 5.8:1!). Anyway, aside from that the major difference is in the bellhousing, clutch, and flywheel.
I'll be using the '35 bellhousing since it will mate to the big truck 4-speed as well as keep the brake/clutch pedals intact. I'd like to use the '33 flywheel and clutch. This will allow me to use the good starter that came with the '33 motor. The major difference between the two years is in the number of teeth -- the '33 has a lot fewer than the '35. The flywheels are the same diameter across but are clearly different designs. The pressure plates between the two years are also different looking in design. Does anyone foresee any troubles in making this swap? It appears that everything should fit in there just fine as the only thing I'd be changing is the bellhousing.
If there were some reason for me to need to use the '35 flywheel on the '33 motor, would it effect the balance of the motor while running? Just curious.
