For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 8 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 8 | Hello all, I'm a new registered user here but have been lurking for quite a while. What a website! This place is great. My question, I have a 66 c20 fleetside I drive almost exclusively everywhere I go.I am planning on lowering it and need torque specs for ball joints ,etc.Where are the Chilton or Haynes repair guides for this series of truck? I have searched ebay and have found the shop manuals for the 2 books I need ('63 with the '66 supplement)but am a little hesitant shelling out $60.00 for these books.Any suggestions? | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 313 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 313 | Keep looking. You might find them for less. However, $60.00 is not that bad for all of the useful info in them. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 Riding in the Passing Lane | | Riding in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 | Most of the specialtie parts suppliers have reprinted factory shop manuals. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum | | | | | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 549 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 549 | | | | | | Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 8 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 8 | I guess I will buy those two books then. I have quite a few more things I want to do with this truck and I will probably need them. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2002 Posts: 1,571 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2002 Posts: 1,571 | I'd keep looking. Good used original printing manuals on eBay are usually cheap. | | |
