| | | | Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 192 Member | | Member Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 192 | well i got a good start on the project this week,baged and tagged the whole cab,removing every thing took a better part of yesterday and today,all that's left is the 4 cab bolts and a door to disassemble and out she goes!! still on the look-out for a cab,any donations out there?i found out that it does'nt cost anything to dissassemble and get started on cleaning the frame and engine/trans hopefully this week-end,i want to thank this web site for giving me a nudge to get the ball rolling again,after a year of recovery from back surgery,i can only do what my body allows me to do!!

I know a guy here on Saltspring Island who could prolly come up w/ a 5-9 GMC cab, but I'd expect him to want around a thou CDN for it, and you'd still hafta get it over there

grommet set for cab,
gasket kit,gas pedal
wiring harness
cab bushings and bolts,all emergency cables,both u-joints,and both driveshaft seals
while i'm at it i think i will pull the tranny and bench it for a thoruogh investigation and cleaning,
gonna rent a commercial sand blaster for the big parts,

Your cab looks as good as my front fenders. I may just paint over the holes in my fenders after the rust is removed.

A good cab is expensive. At one point I was looking for a 66 big back window cab. Iron Chief in Ston Plain Alberta wanted $5000 for one in primer with all the rust fixed (yes, $5000). Scotts Super Trucks in Penhold Alberta wanted $1000 for an original cab in fairly good condition with no work done on it. The thing is, once you have a good cab, the project is well on its way. Whoa! I'm sure that between all us Canucks here we can find you a decent TF cab.
I know of several in Southern Alberta if you are at all interested.
